The Creatures of the Night

If you’re curious about wildlife and want a chance to see some nocturnal species at play, then Stanley Park is the place to be.

This program is run by the Stanley Park Ecology Society

The Stanley Park Ecology Society runs the Creatures of the Night program from Thursdays to Sundays throughout October

The Creatures of the Night program is organized by the Stanley Park Ecology Society (SPES).

In this first clip, Public Programs Manager Krystal Pyke talks about the Creatures of the Night program, the animals you might encounter and the fun you’ll have (while learning too).

What is the Stanley Park Ecology Society (SPES)?

Creating more awareness of SPES is something that needs to be done admits Pyke. Here she tells us more about the organization, its goals and the programs it offers. There is often collaboration with schools, SPES hosts an urban camping initiative and there are many volunteer opportunities for people who want to learn more about conservation.

The Creatures of the Night program runs Thursday to Sunday evenings during October, and there are many other programs throughout the year that encourage people to learn about British Columbia’s many ecosystems and animal species that live in the wild.

Nocturnal life in Stanley Park

There’s plenty of life at night in Stanley Park

If you would like to hear more about ecology in British Columbia and the unique habitats the province’s temperate rainforest creates, please visit sciwae.com for the complete interview with Krystal Pyke, many thanks to her and SPES.
